I've been coming to this place since I was around 7 years old and I'm 35. This was always a neighborhood staple, back in the days when there was an old school gas pump by the door and a wall littered with out of state license plates... I really miss that vibe. The place was always packed out the door, inside full, outside full and it was my favorite place to eat in the whole world. I remember even getting a tour in the back by the manager and my grandfather was friends with all the cooks and bus boys. Somewhere along the lines the food changed, the decor was removed and the place was sterilized. That long line turned into an empty building and we just didn't go anymore. The food just wasn't good, and the vibe was clinical. Not good for a Texas BBQ spot You're probably wondering how this is a 5 star review huh? Well, a while back I decided to give it another go and I got my usual... to my surprise... they are BACK! Now, they might not have all of the old decor back, (BRING IT BACK) but the food is back to how it used to be and takes me back to some of the happiest times in my life. I try to get in there whenever I can, and if you're reading this and have been on the fence, I highly recommend you get in there and try it!!!

I had a small "juicy" brisket and a side of bbq tater tots. It had been a while. The brisket was unbelievably fantastic. Somewhat melting in my mouth. I had never had the bbq tator tots they were incredible too. Typically I need ketchup on the tots, but no need. The food and service definitely 5 star. The only negative when ordering on line the picture shows a small salad on the plate with the small brisket. Nope doesn't come with salad....and like everything eating out has gotten pricey. Still, it was crazy good.

Visiting San Jose for a few days. Found this little gem! Excellent ribs, perfect Texas toast and the crunchiest onion rings ever. So happy I found this place. Clean , nice music and friendly staff. If in San Jose, you must give it a try
